Western Soft Power: Black Lives Matter in the Former Soviet Union – UPDATE or BLM and Nazism

by Gordon M. Hahn

A few weeks ago I published an article “Western Soft Power: Black Lives Matter in the Former Soviet Union” or simply ‘BLM in FSU’, which discussed the presentation of BLM propaganda to children in a British international school in one of the former Soviet republics (https://gordonhahn.com/2021/11/16/western-soft-power-black-lives-matter-in-the-former-soviet-union/). The original is reproduced below in part.

The same school, which is attended by one of my daughters, is now planning “to walk the students to the German WWII Cemetery” “(a)s part of our…commitment to being more physically active this week and our English work,” according to a letter the school administration sent to parents. The letter continues:

When there we will explore the information on the gravestones and discuss the ages of the soldiers. We will also walk around the graveyard and use the experience to generate vocabulary for all of our senses including emotions. We will then write a piece of poetry from the experience.

Being in an unusual environment which lends itself to an emotional reaction impacts on creativity and language use. We believe the walk and the work to come from it will be a beneficial learning experience for the students. Being able to get out of school at a time when there are many restrictions on school excursions is also wonderful.”

All deletions from the letter are intended to mask the location of my daughter and her school given potential threats resulting from my writing.

One wonders why it is that this international school came decided the best or a good way ‘to generate vocabulary,’ for ‘being more physically active’, to have an ‘experience’ that might prompt ’emotions’ for writing poetry, and to provide ‘an unusual environment which lends itself to an emotional reaction’ and impact ‘creativity and language use.’ Why did it come to a conclusion that its schoolchildren — consisting of a plurality of ethnic Russians as well as others from the country’s native population or titular nationality as well as schoolchildren from elsewhere mostly outside the FSU — would be well served by visiting the graves of Nazi. Is this the only issue over which one might have emotions? Why are the ages of the dead soldiers important? To generate sympathy for them? Why visit a cemetery only for NAZI soldiers? Why not visit cemeteries in the country for Soviet and/or native soldiers? Why visit a cemetery for soldiers at all? Do not the graves of civilians provoke emotions? Why are the graves of young soldiers who just happen to be Nazis needed to spark emotions? After all, Britain fought the Nazis in World War II. Is this intended to be punishment for the Soviets’ failure to leave this former republic as an independent state? Doubtful. Is it thoughtlessness or ignorance on the part of the school’s teachers and/or administration? Perhaps. But there is another hypothesis or two I would like to offer. I emphasize this is just a hypothesis, though a logical one with not a bad chance of being confirmed.

The Hypotheses

Hypothesis 1 goes as follows: The school is part of some kind of Western desire or a even deliberate policy aimed at dividing the population along racial/ethnic lines much as much of present DP-controlled U.S. policy under the Biden administration is designed to polarize various groups: Blacks and whites, men and women, homosexuals and heterosexuals, the religious and non-religious. As evidence of the latter American polarization efforts I note the following: The Biden administration’s increasingly strict mandates on the native population to combat COVID versus the policy of leaving the border open and flying illegal immigrants who have not been tested for COVID to new destinations around the country, with no mechanism to monitor their health or migration as they move about the country. Leaving violent groups like BLM and Antifa unindicted and protected from any charges of terrorism, while characterizing as ‘domestic terrorists’ any parents who seek to protect their children from anti-white propaganda known as ‘critical race theory’ or who get angry at school board meetings when board members claim there have been no rapes in a local school board, when the parent is the father of a girl who was raped by a transvestite student. Since the latter was exposed not a single board member has been charged with a crime. Moreover, as was subsequently revealed, the Biden administration colluded with the National Association of School Boards to write a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland to deal with a growing threat of ‘domestic terrorism’ from such parents and which Garland used to set the FBI after such ‘terrorists.’ These and similar official acts are intended to provoke political opponents or those who oppose DP state policies such as strict COVID restrictions and the imposition of critical race theory and transgenderism on schoolchildren. Another example is the total impunity that BLM and Antifa leaders and members enjoyed in the wake of the summer 2020 riots and murders. No one has been called to testify to the FBI no less an unconstitutional ‘Select Committee,’ but the Select Committee on January 6th investigating the 6 January 2021 Capitol riot is subpoenaing Republicans and, as in case of Steve Bannon, will be arresting them for contempt of congress for refusing to testify before a body with no constitutional authority to carry out criminal investigations.

Returning to the thesis that these lessons are provocations, it can be noted that the two issues recently brought to the attention of schoolchildren by the noted British school — sympathy for BLM and the Nazis of World War II — are issues that offend disproportionately the ethnic Russian population in this republic. Most ethnic Russian find American Wokeness approximately as objectionable as American conservatives do. Putin is not the only one. But even more galling for them is any sympathy for Nazi Germany, whose forces brought the deaths of some 27 million Soviet soldiers and citizens – the majority being ethnic Russians. Moreover, a significant portion of the non-Russian population, the titular nationality in the country, supported the Nazis, helped round up and slaughter Jews, and dislike ethnic Russians today. So to restate the hypothesis: Is whoever is determining the noted school’s policies and driving the development of class lessons deliberately attempting to drive a wedge between Russians and non-Russians in this former Soviet republic?

Hypothesis 2: The BLM and Nazi lessons taken together are intended to prompt questions about the nature of the state and its proper role in human society. This would not be an anarchist lesson but rather an internationalist one. This is hypothesis is suggested by: (1) the school is an international one and seeks to create global citizens; (2) the state needs to be subsumed under an ideology of the ‘global citizen’ and so globalism is promoted by the school on behalf of globalist oriented sponsors of the school, globalists of the Klaus Schwab kind who are promoting global governance, taxes, and values in place of nation-states, nationalities, national cultures, and the like; (3) both BLM and the death of young soldiers, especially Nazis, provide globalist-relevant lessons in the Schwabian mode–that is, BLM is anti-capitalist and so supports the Schwabian idea of global managerial socialist government (Schwab’s “stakeholder capitalism”) and promotes the interests of national minorities and the poor, who are supposedly not ‘stakeholders’ in traditional market capitalism. Here the Nazi lesson’s function is to point to the danger of capitalist state as warmonger. Thus, the classical nation-state and its local capitalist markets need to be discredited and portrayed to pale in terms of ‘justice’ compared with the global government to be established by way of Schwab’s Stakeholder Capitalism (read: managerial socialism), Fourth Industrial Revolution, Green Deal, Great Reset, etc.

Hypotheses 1 and 2. Another hypothesis would combine hypotheses 1 an 2. Russia is a state, and one which along with its population, is quite antagonistic to the Western-led liberal-leftist identitarian and socialist globalist agenda. Compared with Western states and populations, Russia and Russians are little enamored with minority rights no less minority privileges, the LGBTQ agenda, replacement of Russian national traditions by global identity rooted in a global identity, virtuality and transhumanism. This means that the drivers of this globalist educational policy can kill two birds — forgive the inappropriate image — with one stone. They can split this former Soviet republic-now independent state along ethnic lines and blame it on capitalism, Russian ‘whiteness’, and the Russian state as supposedly the penultimate example of the dangers of the state and capitalism and of powerful states inclined towards war and imperialism. We can see that even in the case of the American constitutional republican system, it is only tolerated by globalists to the extent and duration of its support for the globalist agenda. In this sense, American conservatives are being chased into the same ideological lifeboat as many Russians find themselves, no matter how different American and Russian conservatives are, especially in their respective attitudes towards constitutional republicanism and free markets. Regardless, the globalists are endeavoring to sink that lifeboat so it can sink the ships of the state and drive their populations into the deceptive ‘safe harbor’ of the Great Reset and a global managerial socialist authoritarian regime.

Of course, it is probably just the case — or wishful thinking on my part — that this particular decision (not the BLM decision) is simply a case of Westerners’ cultural ignorance or low cultural IQ regarding the former Soviet states their bosses have them meddling in.

**For reasons of family security I have refrained in this and the previous article from providing information that might assist one in determining in which post-Soviet country my child is attending school.

EXCERPTS FROM THE PREVIOUS ‘BLM IN FSU’ ARTICLE

The expansion of the EU and NATO is facilitating the expansion of one set of Western values and point of view to the east; an east for which many of the issues raised by the predominant American component of Western ideology are irrelevant to locals. ….

I have direct experience in one of the former Soviet republics with one international, to which one of my two daughters attends daily whether physically or virtually, depending on the state of the ‘war against COVID.’ I present my family’s experience here.

Keep in mind that there are no African or other racial minorities in this particular country, no blacks, no Hispanics, no Asians. The only minority is ethnic and linguistic, and it is Russian. No, there is no EU or NATO plan to counter Russophobia here. The school seems preoccupied with the problems of the homeland of most of its teachers, England.

In a poetry class a few weeks ago, the class topic became ‘Black Lives Matter’ (BLM). The children are 10-11 years of age and consist of no Americans, Brits, Australians; one parent of one child is Canadian. Two materials were presented.

The ‘poetry’ material is an interview with a British poet, who praises BLM, with no other view presented for balance…..

only to be refuted. In this contextless and one-sided way, without an iota of evidence or comparison, the children are given to learn and accept the point of view that ‘some people,’ implicitly whites, think blacks are less than human. Ignored, of course, is the mass of evidence that there are the blacks who consider whites to be less than human (see the ‘academic’ work “On Whiteness” in the Appendix below).

……

The cartoon on the last page of the interview’s text is designed to counter the critique of BLM as a slogan; a critique that argues that slogan BLM implies that all lives do not matter, only black lives do. The cartoon shows one figure

attempting to convince another that this is not true by setting up an analogy. Imagine a series of houses. One is on fire; others are not. One needs repairs. Shouldn’t one focus on the house that is on fire, rather than making repairs to another, the one figure asks the other? The point is that blacks are still embattled victims in systemically and institutionally racist America.

…….

But this minority ultranationalism and the method of justifying and expanding it by way of propaganda to innocent schoolchildren is not the only thing we Westerners’ tax dollars are funding . Twice now the school has invited a NATO member-country’s military officer to school to gve talks to children only 7-8 years old. He handed momentos with varius NATO symbols on them to the children. The following is one of them:

To some all this might seem like BLM propaganda being disseminated at the barrel of a gun. Perhaps it is.

BLM SLOGAN? ‘HANDS UP, DON’T SHOOT’ — BLM’s FALSIFICATION OF FACTS REGARDING SHOOTINGS OF BLACKS BY POLICE

With few exception, the police shootings BLM has protested have been misrepresented by BLM as the murder of unarmed, passive young African-Americans. The reality is that in almost all cases, the young African-Americans were armed and were attempting or already had attempted to attack and kill police. For example, “(a) majority of black Americans believe that St Louis area teenager Brown was essentially murdered by Ferguson (Missouri) police officer Darren Wilson, in a scenario close to that originally described to the media by ‘street witnesses’. That is, a black boy was shot in cold blood as he held up his open hands and begged for his life. However, while this scenario inspired the popular t-shirt and political slogan ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’, it bears little resemblance to reality.

“Wilson has been cleared by two separate comprehensive investigations of the Brown shooting (as well as his original grand jury) – one conducted in 2015 by the Obama administration Department of Justice; and the second in 2020 by a left-leaning Missouri prosecutor who campaigned specifically on a promise to revisit the facts of Brown’s case. The reason for both outcomes was the overwhelming thrust of the facts: Brown’s DNA was found on the slide and trigger guard of Wilson’s gun, as well as on the lawman’s shirt and pants, inside his car, and on the left interior door handle of the vehicle. ABC News, in a major 2014 piece, drew the obvious conclusion from these data: ‘Brown punched the officer… and reached [into his vehicle] and struggled over Wilson’s gun.’ At no point did the 6ft 5in tall Brown have his hands up, during what became a physical struggle between two big men, except perhaps to strike Wilson.

“With a very few exceptions (even to some extent George Floyd’s, the narratives surrounding most recent cases made famous by Black Lives Matter similarly collapse.” — See https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/11/06/michael-brown-the-founding-myth-of-black-lives-matter/

AFRICAN-AMERICANS KILL POLICE AT A RATE DISPROPORTIONATELY HIGH TO THEIR REPRESENTATION IN THE U.S. POPULATION. In 2019, 49 alleged offenders were identified in connection with the 48 law enforcement officers feloniously killed. Of those offenders, the following characteristics are known:

  • 28 of the alleged perpetrators were White, 15 were Black/African American, and 1 was Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander. Race was not reported for 5 of the alleged offenders. (See Table 42.)
  • 12 of the alleged perpetrators were under judicial supervision at the time of the incidents. (See Table 45.)
  • 36 of the alleged perpetrators had prior criminal arrests. (See Table 46.) [7]

BLACK ANTI-WHITE RACISM

Donald Moss, “On Having Whiteness,” Journal of the American Psychoanalytical Association, Vol. 69, No. 2, 2021, pp. 355-371.ARTICLE ABSTRACT[13]:

Whiteness is a condition one first acquires and then one has—a malignant, parasitic-like condition to which “white” people have a particular susceptibility. The condition is foundational, generating characteristic ways of being in one’s body, in one’s mind, and in one’s world. Parasitic Whiteness renders its hosts’ appetites voracious, insatiable, and perverse. These deformed appetites particularly target nonwhite peoples. Once established, these appetites are nearly impossible to eliminate. Effective treatment consists of a combination of psychic and social-historical interventions. Such interventions can reasonably aim only to reshape Whiteness’s infiltrated appetites—to reduce their intensity, redistribute their aims, and occasionally turn those aims toward the work of reparation. When remembered and represented, the ravages wreaked by the chronic condition can function either as warning (“never again”) or as temptation (“great again”). Memorialization alone, therefore, is no guarantee against regression. There is not yet a permanent cure” (See https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/00030651211008507?journalCode=apaa&). See similar views by a New York psychiatrist invited to give a lecture at The Yale University School of Medicine. In her lecture Aruna Khilanani, who has a private practice in New York, discussed her fantasies of shooting white people, as reported by The New York Times.[14]

The new critical race theory and Black liberation theology, so popular among African-Americans, have established race as a biological criteria for divining the line between good and evil. Critical race theory combines Marxist theories of oppressor versus oppressed through the lens of race, not just class antagonism. In the era of postmodernism, these radical ideologies have been embraced by many African-American intellectuals and political leaders. The DP leadership, moreover, openly supports such ideologies. Thus, incoming president Joe Biden’s appointee to head the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, Kristen Clark, has endorsed in very specific terms black suprematism in its most primordial, biological form. As a student at Harvard University she wrote a letter to the Harvard Crimson arguing that “(m)elanin endows Blacks with greater mental, physical and spiritual abilities” as compared to whites.[15] She also wrote:

“Please use the following theories and observations to assist you in your search for truth regarding the genetic differences between Blacks and whites.

“One: Dr Richard King reveals that the core of the human brain is the ‘locus coeruleus,’ which is a structure that is Black, because it contains large amounts of neuro-melanin, which is essential for its operation.

“Two: Black infants sit, crawl and walk sooner than whites.

“Three: Carol Barnes notes that human mental processes are controlled by melanin — that same chemical which gives Blacks their superior physical and mental abilities.

“Four: Some scientists have revealed that most whites are unable to produce melanin because their pineal glands are often calcified or non-functioning. Pineal calcification rates with Africans are five to 15 percent, Asians 15 to 25 percent and Europeans 60 to 80 percent. This is the chemical basis for the cultural differences between blacks and whites.

Five: Melanin endows Blacks with greater mental, physical and spiritual abilities — something which cannot be measured based on Eurocentric standards.”[16]

Another such racist thinker is Biden’s nominee to the post of State Department Under Secretary for Arms Conrol and International Security Affairs, Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins. She is co-founder of a race theory institute, the Women of Color for Peace, Security, and Conflict Resolution (WCPSCR) and former head of the arms control division at State under Obama. The WCPSCR has issued a statement blaming the January 6th riot at the Capitol citing its origins not in the provocative acts of the DP over the last four years, including speeches inciting violence against Trump supporters and/or conservatives, not on widespread reporting and evidence of voter fraud, not even on Trump’s speech, but on “white supremacy”: “We must acknowledge this attack’s gravity and recognize its origin in white supremacy and a lack of accountability.”[17]

In a recent Washington Post editorial on “multiracial whiteness,” a New York University ‘professor’ named Cristina Beltran leveled a pseudo-academic attack on all non-whites who support former President Donald Trump, Republicans, or conservatives and their causes. Such traitorous non-whites have decided to become white or bathe in whiteness. They do so on “the promise” from whites that minorities, like whites, “can lay claim to the politics of aggression, exclusion and domination.” They manifest the whiteness they treacherously appropriate, she scribbled, by the “persecution and dehumanization of others.”[18]

Rutgers University black female ‘professor’ called for “taking these motherfuckers (white people) out, prasing low birth rates among whites in the U. S.[19]

African-American, female U.S. House of Representatives Rep. Cori Bush recently used racism for political ends as the entire DP now often does: “Joe Manchin’s opposition to the Build Back Better Act is anti-Black, anti-child, anti-woman, and anti-immigrant. When we talk about transformative change, we are talking about a bill that will benefit Black, brown and Indigenous communities. Those same communities are overwhelmingly excluded from the bipartisan infrastructure bill. We cannot leave anyone behind.[20]
